The project focuses on creating products that help music lovers interact with their collections in more engaging ways. Beyond listening, physical media needs to be stored, moved, protected, and shared, both inside and outside the home. By exploring these aspects, Jeffrey aims to improve the experience for record collectors.

The idea

The project explores how the physical music experience can be refreshed. Jeffrey is interested in developing new products that enhance the experience of collecting and engaging with vinyl records in everyday life.

Beyond listening, physical media needs to be stored, moved, protected, and shared, both inside and outside the home. By exploring these aspects, Jeffrey aims to improve the experience for record collectors. While every listener has a unique taste, the needs for maintaining and engaging with a collection are often similar. The project focuses on creating products that help music lovers interact with their collections in more engaging ways.

The person

Jeffrey recently moved to Sweden from the United States and brings a long-standing passion for music and vinyl. Starting out in a record shop at a young age, he later opened his own shop and has spent many years working as a record dealer.

Over time, Jeffrey has developed deep knowledge of the field through daily interaction with records and by traveling across the US to attend record conventions and meet other music enthusiasts. Now based in Sweden, he is exploring new opportunities within the vinyl community, with a focus on how the experience can evolve beyond listening.

The reason to join

Jeffrey applied to Home of the Home Lab to explore how far these ideas can develop. With a strong belief in the value music brings to people’s lives, he sees potential to create more engaging ways for people to connect with their collections.

Starting fresh in a new country, Jeffrey sees the programme as an opportunity to turn ideas into tangible concepts in a creative and challenging environment. It offers a space to test ideas, develop new directions, and explore a new path forward.

Programme period

Autumn 2026.
