Verktygsbanken is a community tool library. The idea is simple: members borrow what they need, return it when they are done, and the tool goes on to the next person. It is a working proof that circular economy ideas can take root in a real neighbourhood and at the same time, building both networks and shared knowledge.

The team

Bhuvana and Harish moved to Älmhult and were drawn to how international and quietly interesting the town is. They are motivated to create solutions that make everyday life a little easier and better for others.

The reason to join

Bhuvana and Harish applied to Home of the Home Lab because the programme provides what Verktygsbanken needs: structure, partners, and constructive challenge from an experienced community, IKEA’s network, and the municipality’s sustainable infrastructure. They are looking for an environment where assumptions are tested, weak points are challenged, and what works can be strengthened, which they see as more valuable than continuing to work on their own.
