Library

We have a large variety of fiction and non-fiction books for both schoolwork and pleasure reading. There is also a collection of literature in many of the different Mother Tongues that the school has. In the library there are places to sit and study or to just read and relax. The students also have the possibility to borrow books for themselves when the librarian is busy elsewhere.

Our part-time Librarian is responsible for overseeing the library for both PYP and MYP. In this role, the librarian curates the collection, holds sessions on Information Literacy and Research Skills, engages in Book Talks with students, handles the administration, and more. The librarian also plays a vital role in collaborating with teachers to foster knowledge in research skills and critical thinking among our students.

In PYP all students have weekly classes in the library. The librarian holds sessions on library and research skills for some visits, and during others the students spend time selecting and borrowing books. She is also part of the Personal Exhibition to help the students with their research needs.

MYP students do not have scheduled library visits but are welcome whenever they want to come in to borrow books or ask the librarian for help. It’s also possible to book a meeting with the librarian if needed. They often use the library study rooms or sit out in the library proper. In MYP the librarian does classroom visits and holds sessions and workshops on specialized topics such as citation, Academic Integrity, referencing tools, source evaluation, and more. These sessions are held for all grades, but especially for MYP 5 to help them in their work on the Personal Project.

Library Catalog

We have an online library catalog where you can search for books that our library has. Students from PYP 4 and up learn to reserve books and see what books they have at home. They can also reborrow the titles that they need for a longer time.

Books in your Mother Tongue

We offer books in different languages like English, Swedish, Chinese, German, Polish, Hindi and more. The selection of mother tongue books is under constant change. If you are missing a language or if you would like to have more than we have now just let the librarian know and she will put it on the wish list.
