MULL addresses common barriers to household composting and offers a practical and well-designed tool that makes circular living more seamless and hygienic. By combining the breathability of unglazed terracotta, which prevents anaerobic rotting, with a wooden lid containing a replaceable activated charcoal filter, the solution helps neutralize odors.

The idea

MULL is an aesthetic, odorless countertop compost caddy that relies on natural material science rather than plastic or electricity. By combining the breathability of unglazed terracotta, which prevents anaerobic rotting, with a wooden lid containing a replaceable activated charcoal filter, the solution helps neutralize odors.

MULL addresses common barriers to household composting and offers a practical and well-designed tool that makes circular living more seamless and hygienic.

The person

Snehasis has a professional background in business analytics, digital transformation, and strategic communication. While much of his work has focused on agile methods and tech-driven solutions, his interest in sustainable living has led him toward material-driven design.

He is especially interested in how everyday objects shape household behaviours and is motivated to combine Scandinavian aesthetics with natural science to solve everyday challenges.

The reason to join

Snehasis applied to Home of the Home Lab because MULL is a highly physical concept that requires hands-on development. He wanted to move away from screen-based work and into a collaborative environment where materials and prototypes can be tested and refined.

The programme offers access to shared space, mentorship, and a creative community, which Snehasis sees as important for developing MULL into a functional and scalable product.

Programme period

Autumn 2026.
