About the festival
The festival is planned and designed entirely in line with the watchwords of our venue brand: international, homely, down-to-earth and resourceful.
We have a fantastic cultural school with talented students. We will of course take advantage of this. Putting the spotlight on our local talents, especially young ones, is fully in line with the ambition to increase participation in cultural life. The cultural life of the future is created by today's children and young people. The talented young people we see at the Älmhult Festival may very well perform on a large national or international stage in the future.
The festival also helps to strengthen the location and increase the attractiveness of the city center, thereby benefiting merchants, cafes, restaurants and others.
Tone Sekelius was the first trans person in the 2022 Melodifestivalen competition with the song 'My Way' and finished in fifth place. This year, Tone went directly to the final of the competition with the song "Rhythm Of My Show".
Tone won the award for LGBT Person of the Year 2022 at the QX gala and was celebrated during her performances at Allsång på Skansen and PRIDE. She has also become one of Sweden's biggest influencers on TikTok and YouTube. Right now, Tone is a current host of Paradise and a participant in Lets Dance.
