“The home of many nationalities” in Älmhult 2018.
Between May 31st and June 6th we are arranging the week “the home of many nationalities” in Älmhult 2018. In Älmhult we meet people from different cultures and backgrounds on daily basis. We want to celebrate this and invite everyone to a few days filled with activities.
It will include Pride Parade “Älmhult Pride” and International Food Market. Welcome to join in a celebration of openness, diversity and everyone’s equal value!
Colorful Pride Parade
On May 31rd we start “the home of many nationalities” with our own pride parade. Pride parade for everyone’s equal value starts at Älmhults handelsplats/IKEA and then we continue through town to the Älmhult square. There will be some happenings, and dancing.
Älmhultsfestivalen 1-2 June
This year, Älmhult's festival will be held in Älmhult city center. The festival will take place during 1–2 June. The festival will be a part of the "The home of many nationalities -week” which runs 31 May to 6 June. The week includes pride, food market and national day-celebration.
It will be a wide range of activities from morning to evening. Norra Esplanaden and the square will be filled with funfair, dining tents and happenings. There are appearances on two stages with artists, talent hunt, children's shows and fashion show.
Hanna Ferm, Liamoo and Anis Don Demina will perfom at the festival on June 1st! Jacob Hellman, Monica Törnell, Gyllene Tider and Freestyle with Tommy Ekman and Micke Syd will perfom at the festival on June 2nd!
"World food" at Älmhults handelsplats/IKEA
Sunday, June 3rd 11:00 to 14:00 o’clock is the time for Älmhults international food market. Through food we meet, socialize and exchange new recipes. With the theme "Food creates interaction” or "eat and meet" we will be tasting delicious dishes cooked by our own inhabitants of Älmh
New Swedish citizens
New Swedish citizens are invited to a nice ceremony. You who have become new Swedish citizens over this past year will be especially noticed during the Swedish National day. A personal invitation for two people will be sent to you before the ceremony.
